Banna Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt

I love trying new Flavors of Ben & Jerry's.
Ben and Jerry just know what's up when
it comes to ice cream!
Of course my favorite brand is blue bell,
but they only have it in select southern states.
*sigh*
So I have to go with the next best thing.
Well I about flipped my shit when I saw the Banana Peanut Butter!
Seriously I think I screamed in the Wawa.
Banana & Peanut butter is my favorite combination of flavors to ever exist!
I have no clue if this is new or not, but our Wawa likes to rotate their flavors of ice cream often.
I just hope it is there, the next time I want it!
This was so smooth and creamy, the right ratio of banana to peanut butter.
I usually don't go for the frozen yogurts,
my philosophy is if you are going to go out and eat something delicious,
you mine as well just go all out.
But I really couldn't resist this flavor.
They didn't have it as the regular ice cream, only the frozen yogurt,
but honestly I really didn't mind it, it was a bit softer than your
typical ice cream, I suppose because it was yogurt.
This flavor though, is dangerously good.
I was halfway through the container when I realized oh my lord I have just
eaten a cup of ice-cream, yep time to stop before I eat the entire thing!
Well I hope if you're a banana peanut butter fanatic like me, and see this,
you grab it, and give it a go!

you're welcome!    ;)

Milkinis Chocolate

Chris and I often get chocolate cravings, especially at night.
I know, I know, it's so bad for you to eat in the evening,
but sometimes you just need to satisfy those cravings!
So this little beauty caught my eye.
The brand is Milka, and on the package it said
"Europe's favorite chocolate"
So I figured, what the heck, I'll try it.

It comes with 8 individual bars, 4 squares per bar.
I love how they are individually wrapped.
It helps keep them fresh if you only want a little here and there.
These were absolutely divine. So much so,
when Chris wanted some, I got a bit cranky about it...
(sorry honey!)
But they were that good!
They are chocolate squares with this smooth cream in the middle,
almost like kinder chocolate.

I did a little research on them, and it is Swiss chocolate,
which explains why I loved it so much,
Swiss chocolate is my favorite chocolate,
by far!
This brand makes other kinds as well.
Some other kinds are chocolate with,
almonds, hazelnuts, and toffee crunch.
If you ever come across this I highly recommend you try it.
I promise you will not regret it!
I found this at the commissary, on base,
but I was reading that you can find them at walmart as well!

Chewy Lemon Cookies

I absolutely adore lemon and anything lemon flavored, however I have never embarked on making a lemon cookie. I decided it was about time I made a lemon cookie. Before I get into the recipe, let me for warn you these are simply amazing, and I honestly think I have a new favorite cookie! I LOVE chocolate chip cookies, and those typically are my favorite, so when I say this lemon cookie is my favorite, know that they are damn good to be my favorite! Also, I don't mean to brag or anything but my husband loved these, and he hates lemon flavored sweets, or any fruit rather in sweets!

Also, I must give credit where it is due, I found inspiration from the recipe here, well actually I made zero changes to the recipe. I can see these being great on a summer day, also they are really simple and quick to whip up. As always I am about to flood you with pictures.

As yall can see my cookies came out rather large, and it made exactly 32 cookies, I probably should have spaced them out more because they ran together, I do wish they were a bit fluffier, I think if my butter was a bit softer, and when I ment to turn the mixer off and accidently turned it on high, then that would have helped! Yes I went to turn off the mixer, and had my hands full, turned it on high and it went insane for a few seconds! Over mixing or mixing on high will make dough more dense, and I think that's what happened, however, these were still chewy and delicious. I will definitely be making these again. Also I baked mine a little under the time, I love a good under baked cookie. :) They baked 8 minutes, just as the recipe called for. When I take them out, I let them sit about two minutes, then I remove them from the cookie sheet. Also I didn't have parchment on hand so I used aluminum foil, and it worked out perfectly.

Chewy Lemon Cookies

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest of one large lemon
  • 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar for rolling cookies

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
In a larger bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, lemon zest and juice.
Add in dry ingredients, beating until just combined. Roll rounded spoonfuls of dough into balls and then roll in sugar. Place on lined cookie sheets, about 1 or 2 inches apart.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. (Mine needed barely 8 minutes; they were not yet golden but I wanted them still pale and tender.) Remove from oven and let stand on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before removing to cook on wire racks.
    Makes 24 – 36 cookies.

If you haven't made some chocolate chip cookies yet today to celebrate, then you definitely should! Or... you could wait until my post is up tomorrow. Just to give everyone something to look forward to, the recipe is really weird, but the best I've made thus far. They are super soft and chewy. Perfection!

    Eating Healthy!

Some days, I get so hungry, and I don't have time to eat, so then when I get time, I go insane, and eat the whole entire kitchen? Do you ever have those days? Well a good substantial meal replacement I have discovered, are the cliff bars. I use to have them in the summer time before or after a run, and I recently sort of rediscovered them. I picked up quite a few the other day. They are great because they are small enough to take and put in your purse and take them on the go. They are also super filling. I ate one a day ago for dinner, because Chris was at work, and I wasn't in the mood for anything really but something sweet... but eating a candy bar for dinner isn't practical, well neither is an energy bar, but it's better than a candy bar. Well I was expecting to be hungry in an hour or so, you know, because candy bars don't fill you up, but the cliff bar filled me completely, and well, that was indeed dinner.

Another great thing for on the go, or for breakfast in the morning are the naked juices! I have only tried a few but the green machine is my favorite thus far! I love how the front says "looks weird, but tastes great," because that is very much true. The first time I saw this, I thought who would drink that, that looks so unappealing, but it is simply delicious. It is pretty sweet for all the vegetables it contains, and I love how it is all pure fruits and vegetables, because god knows I don't get my proper intake of them. Side note- I need to change that!

My favorite cliff bar was the one I most recently picked up, the blueberry crisp! Oh my goodness, this was really a treat. It was super tasty, in fact, it honestly tasted like a homemade blueberry streusel muffin! I highly recommend it! Also the cliff bars look gross at first as well, but try them, they are awesome! It also gave me energy to squeeze in thirty minutes of ab exercises. :)

    All Things New

Ever so often it's good to try new things, right?
Even if it is something prepackage.
    Hey now, don't pass judgment,
Not everything can be homemade all the time.
Well and I like to try new things and give my opinions on them!
    :)

On a midnight run to Wally World, Chris and I picked up a few things.
Actually we picked all the following items up the same night.

    First up:
    Pretzel Crusted cheese sticks.

These were actually pretty delicious. It was weird having cheddar cheese inside of a cheese stick instead of mozzarella. I keep wanting to just call them mozzarella sticks, but they aren't because there is no mozzarella. These are breaded like the traditional FarmRich sticks, but they have bits of pretzels on the outside of the crust. This pretzel crust gives them a nice saltiness, but it isn't too much pretzel.

    Second:
    Buffalo blue cheese sticks

Alright, now when we made these, they were weird. We love buffalo sauce, wings are a weekly thing in our household, but something about these were off. It was... yes.. blue cheese in the center. I hate blue cheese. The taste is too strong, and something about it just tastes sour to me. At first, I couldn't tell it was blue cheese, I tried the cheese stick and only tasted a buffalo flavor at first. Then, I got that after taste. That sourness after taste of blue cheese. Chris could tell right away, and said "I really don't like that". I said they were ok, until I tasted that aftertaste.

    Would I buy them again?

The pretzel ones: Yes. The buffalo ones: No.

Next: White cheddar kraft mac &cheese with garlic & herb

This was a real treat. I am a sucker for any white cheddar mac and cheese though, it just seems richer and creamer than a regular cheddar mac and cheese. Maybe it is all in my head though. The pasta in this is not your traditional mac and cheese elbow pasta. It comes with a mini cavatappi. For those of you that aren't familiar with that kind of pasta it is like a corkscrew pasta. ( And thank you to The Olive Garden for educating me on all the kinds of different pastas, more than culinary school). Anywho, this mac and cheese is super creamy, the herbs add a different taste to it, and the pasta holds the sauce more than the elbow pasta. I absolutely love garlic, and usually add extra to everything, but surprisingly this was well seasoned already, and nothing, not even salt, was needed.

I'd for sure purchase it again.

Last but not least: New 5 wintermint

I love gum and always have to try new flavors, I like the 5 brand and stride, they are alright. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think they might (might) be owned by the same company. Well I love orbit's wintermint so I decided to give it a try. It is very tastey, not as strong as the regular peppermint by 5, but it is stronger than orbit's wintermint. I love minty gum, but after a while it makes my stomach hurt, so I usually go with the wintermints over full on peppermints. This was good, but I still prefer orbit's wintermint.

    WAWA Bagel

    Hello lovelies,

So until moving to New Jersey I never really cared for bagels. Actually I never honestly gave them a fair shot. I don't know why, I just never really knew anyone that was crazy about them. I quickly learned when we moved to New Jersey, that bagels were a thing here... a big thing... and that they are everywhere. When I say everywhere, I really mean everywhere.

Well now, I am hooked. One place that I hadn't tried one from though was WAWA, which should be a crime, considering WAWA is the only place open around here 24/7 and is a tri state ( PA,DE,NJ) thing. I think they are in a few other states, but mostly the tri. Sooooo I figured it was time to try one.

I was debating between the plain with veggie cream cheese or the cinnamon raisin with the wild berry cream cheese. Well yall know me, I have a sweet tooth. So the cinnamon raisin with the wild berry it was.

It was pretty amazing. I think there was too much of the cream cheese. I would get just a little versus the regular amount next time. Also I think I would get it toasted extra long, it was warm, but not toasty how I like.

It's weird I like my actual toast light almost white with a bit of a crisp, but not my bagels. Bagels are different, they have to be extra toasty!

I ate about that much before I scrapped some cream cheese off. The color did freak me out at first, I mean any purple or green foods make me go UHHH at first. It just looks mutated.

I love anything and everything cinnamon though so the actual bagel was amazing. Honestly next time I could maybe even just do the bagel with 0 cream cheese. I love fruity things, but the cream cheese may have been a bit much, but since it was my first time trying a WAWA bagel, I figured I'd go all out.

I still want to try the veggie bagel though!

    :)
